Davao Oriental commitment to providing its people with the best public service and local governance has not gone unnoticed. On Friday, September 23, the province underwent the final stages of assessment and validation for the coveted Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

A national validation team led the rigorous assessment and validation process for the SGLG, covering various aspects of local governance, such as financial management, disaster preparedness, social protection, and business-friendliness and competitiveness. The process also includes on-site visits and interviews with stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of the LGU’s performance.

For the Province of Davao Oriental, undergoing the final stages of assessment and validation for the SGLG is a significant milestone. It is a recognition of its tireless efforts, dedication, and hard work in providing its constituents with the best services possible.

Governor Niño Sotero L. Uy, Jr. expressed his gratitude for undergoing the national validation and attributed the province’s success to the collaborative efforts of the LGU, its employees, and the partners.

The SGLG recognition is not just a badge of honor for the Province of Davao Oriental, but it is also a testament to their commitment to excellence in public service and local governance. It is proof that they are on the right track towards achieving their vision of a sustainable, resilient, and progressive province.

The SGLG is the highest recognition given to a Local Government Unit (LGU) that embodies excellence in public service and local governance. Last year, the province of Davao Oriental received the accolade which is a testament to the LGU’s successful delivery of services, adherence to transparency and accountability, and participation in development initiatives.
