For being one of the Most Improved Health Facilities in the Davao Region, the Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center has been conferred with the Regional Award for Healthcare Excellence.

The award was given to DOPMC by no less than Department of Health Regional Director Dr. Annabelle Yumang during the recently held DOH-CHD Excellence in Healthcare Awards.

Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Reden Bersaldo thanked the hospital workers, from the heads down to the staff, for their efforts in striving hard for excellence to provide care for the patients and β€œfor making DOPMC a much better health facility.”

Within recent years, scores of new developments have been established at the DOPMC. Among them are the new wards, Intensive Care Units, new Emergency Room, the establishment of the Malasakit Center, and the sprawling DOPMC Wellness Center, among many others.

Aside from that, patients now benefit from new equipment, diagnostic testing, and specialists. With new facilities established and specialists residing at the hospital, the provincial government hopes to reduce the number of patients being referred to hospitals in bigger cities.

In the following months, new developments will be established in the hospital. DOPMC will be adding more diagnostic modalities with more specialists. The highly anticipated Medical Arts Building will soon be inaugurated to strengthen public health programs.

The same award was also conferred to DOPH Lupon and DOPH Governor Generoso.

Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang said that even without recognitions, the province will continue realizing these new developments as these are part of the provincial government’s commitment to providing holistic health care, especially to the poor.
