The Province of Davao Oriental is among the country’s Top Performing Local Government Units in terms of Local Revenue Generation.

In a letter from the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), the agency announced that the province has ranked second among all provinces in the country in Performance Area No. 2 – Collection Efficiency of Locally Sourced Revenues.

Based on the data, Davao Oriental has exceeded the collection target of P189 million. For Fiscal Year 2020, the province collected P282.82 million, resulting in a collection efficiency of 149.2 percent.

Governor Nelson Dayanghirang’s notable undertakings, including the implementation of Tax Amnesty Program to encourage delinquent real property owners/taxpayers to settle their obligations, adoption of Electronic Payment Collection System (EPCS), Establishment of the Davao Oriental Local Treasury Association (DOLTRA), and regular deployment of PTO Tax Boosters to facilitate in the MTOs’ conduct of RPT collection activities, among many others have contributed to the province boosting its revenue generation.

Governor Dayanghirang said all these efforts will impact local development and serve as the province’s contribution to nation-building and development.

Governor Nelson Dayanghirang, together with Provincial Treasurer Engr. Ma. Victoria Rodriguez, is set to receive the award next week in Pampanga.
