Knowing how significant first impressions are in shaping visitors’ views, Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon is set to enhance the province’s vendor stalls along the Welcome Park in Brgy. Pintatagan in Banaybanay situated at the entrance to the province.
This is part of the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental’s continuous efforts to strengthen the tourism industry of the province through various collaborative capacity-building projects with the local government units and national agencies.
Earlier today, February 6, Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon, together with DSWD Provincial Coordinator Jerrybelle Gonzales, Banaybanay Mayor Lemeul Ian M. Larcia, and other provincial and local officials held a meeting with the Pintatagan Welcome Park Vendors Association members to discuss perspectives for enhancing the vendor stalls along the Welcome Park.
To further her vision of making Davao Oriental a top tourist destination, Governor Malanyaon reaffirmed her desire for visitors to form positive first impressions of Davao Oriental as soon as they enter the province’s premises.
“I want our visitors to be enthralled by the splendor of our natural treasures, the pristine condition of our surroundings, and the welcoming warmth of our people. Let us make it clear to them why they should come here from the very moment they step in Davao Oriental,” Malanyaon remarked.
Mayor Larcia, for his part, voiced his fervent support for the Provincial Government’s initiatives and even encouraged the association’s members to cooperate fully and do their best to sustain the assistance provided by Governor Malanyaon. He also disclosed intentions of redesigning the stalls to improve their aesthetics, which will undoubtedly impact the park’s overall image.
Store vendors are elated about the provincial government’s plan to improve their stalls to attract visitors and guests passing through the province.
Speaking on behalf of her fellow vendors, Association President Jocelyn C. Celocia conveyed her gratitude towards LGU Banaybanay and Governor Malanyaon for all the support they have extended. She also pledged to lead her members well to make these endeavors successful.
Aside from financial support and development assistance, the vendors will also undergo tourism awareness and skills training and seminars courtesy of the Provincial Tourism Office and Public Employment Service Office. ʙʏ ꜰʀᴀɴᴄɪꜱ ᴊᴀʏ ᴍ. ʙᴜᴛᴜʟᴀɴ | ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏꜱ ʙʏ ᴍᴀʀᴋ ᴏʟɪᴠᴇʀ ᴀʟᴠɪᴛᴇ
