In line with the provincial government’s commitment to making it easier for people in remote areas to access social services, Governor Niño Sotero L. Uy, Jr. is starting to establish Karamay Centers all over the province to serve as an extension office of the province’s Social Services Unit that provides emergency medical and burial assistance to Davao Oriental constituents.
Just recently, Gov. Uy led the inauguration and opening of the Karamay Center in the municipality of Cateel, Davao Oriental – one of the first two existing Karamay Centers in the province. The other Karamay Center is located in the municipality of San Isidro.
Governor Uy, along with the local officials, community leaders, and staff, led the ceremony to mark the official opening of the Karamay Center, which was met with applause and gratitude from the community.
Governor Uy expressed his gratitude to everyone who made this project possible, saying that it is a testament to the provincial government’s commitment to providing the best services to the people of Davao Oriental.
The Karamay Center strategically located in Cateel, headed by Ms. Andresa Reyes, caters not only to Cateel residents but also to nearby towns of Boston and Baganga. The Center has dedicated staff who will assist families in processing payment of hospital bills, providing medicines, assistance in funeral arrangements, and providing financial assistance.
Governor Uy said that more of these centers will be established across the province next year. He emphasized that the Karamay Centers are part of the provincial government’s efforts to improve the lives of its constituents. He added that the Centers are a testament to the government’s commitment to ensuring that every resident of Davao Oriental has access to quality healthcare and emergency services.
“The Karamay Centers are a beacon of hope for the people of Davao Oriental. It is a reminder that the government is working tirelessly to improve the lives of its constituents and ensure that they receive the best services possible,” said Gov. Uy. PIO | Photos by Jefferson Masisay
