“To PD Silagan, as you start your journey, I would like to say that please do not give your loyalty to anyone but to the mandate which you have promised to fulfill. If you do this, then we will not have any problem in so far as pushing for development and security for the entire Province of Davao Oriental. And most especially, in establishing collaboration and partnership with our Provincial Government under my administration.”

This was the sincere and heartfelt reminder of Governor Niño Sotero L. Uy, Jr. to the newly-installed Provincial Director of Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office (DOPPO) Police Colonel (PCOL) Julius E. Silagan during the symbolic Turnover of Office Ceremony held earlier today, November 13, at Oriental Prince Hotel, Mati City. PD Silagan formally replaced former Provincial Director PCOL Francis Donald C. Brillante.

Governor Uy further extended his gratitude to PCOL Brillante for his untiring service to the province, as well as his felicitations to PD Silagan on assuming the role as the new chief of DOPPO and vowed that “the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental will support his endeavors, especially if it is for the good of our constituents.”

“I am confident that under his leadership, the Davao Oriental Provincial Office will continue to lead with integrity and commitment, ensuring our communities to remain safe and secure,” Governor Uy remarked.
Accepting the enormous challenge of leading the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office, PD Julius E. Silagan made a firm commitment to “serve everyone regardless of color, sex, religion, or political affiliation.” He also pledged to do his best to treat everyone fairly and to enforce the law without fear or favor.

During his relinquishment of office message, PCOL Brillante expressed gratitude for the provincial government’s committed leadership from the onset of his service in Davao Oriental. He acknowledged that the province’s police force has received constant support from the former governors up to the current administration of Governor Niño Sotero L. Uy, Jr. He further highlighted how, even in his brief tenure, Governor Uy has already played a significant role in a number of DOPPO endeavors.

He also asked that the same kind of substantial assistance be extended to the new PNP Provincial Director. “Ako nagaapila kaninyong tanan, nga unta ihatag ninyo ang samang suporta ug kooperasyon sa bag-ong provinicial director ug sa DOPPO sa kinatibuk-an sa paagi nga inyong gihatag ug gipaambit kanako ug sa akong pagpamahala aning opisina,” he appealed.
