The Oplan Karsada, a program that fixes and improves neglected rural roads, is set to continue. This was the directive of newly installed Governor Niño Sotero Uy, Jr. during his meeting with the management and staff of the Provincial Engineer’s Office yesterday, July 14.

“This program is essential and critical for our farmers and ordinary citizens. We must continue this as we have already invested resources, time, and effort,” Governor Uy said, noting that this flagship program initiated by the late Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon has already made a huge impact in the communities and the lives of ordinary citizens.

Governor Uy provided instructions to maintain specific programs under the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO). Additionally, he also familiarized himself with the office’s manpower, their respective roles, ongoing initiatives, and any issues of concern.

“Hangyo lang nako nga ideliver nato ug tarong ang atong trabaho kay sayang ang panahon, ug di sab nato tagaan ang mga tao ug false hope hilabi na sa mga nag expect nga sa ila na padong musunod ang programa (I only ask that we deliver our work properly because we don’t want to waste time. Also, do not also give false hope to the people, especially those who expect that their area will be the next to be visited by the team,” Governor Uy stressed, noting that there is a proper schedule for the program. The important thing is that the Oplan Karsada will eventually reach all barangays.

The Oplan Kalsada, which was temporarily stopped for about two weeks, is set to resume operations starting next week to continue the rehabilitation and repair of roads scheduled for completion.

Aside from the Oplan Kalsada, Governor Uy also expressed his desire to continue what the late Governor Malanyaon has started. Among these programs under the supervision of the Engineering Office are the Oplan Pailaw and Oplan Patubig. ʙʏ ᴍᴀʀᴋ ᴏʟɪᴠᴇʀ ᴀʟᴠɪᴛᴇ
