CITY OF MATI, DAVAO ORIENTAL – Contributing to the fast-paced development of Barangay Don Martin Marundan in the City of Mati, the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental broke the ground for the village’s soon-to-rise Barangay Hall and Multi-purpose building.
Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang, who led the groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, February 22, said he hopes the building will take a massive part in developing the plans of the barangay. At the same time, he hopes that the building will become a venue for providing better services to the villagers.
With a project cost of P6 million funded through Loan Proceeds under the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) Loan, the infrastructure project has a total floor area of about 168 square meters which will consist of the offices for the Punong Barangay and other officials of the barangay.
The Barangay Hall also features a 17 square-meter waiting area, a session hall with a floor area of 28.6 square meters that can accommodate at least 12 persons, and three comfort rooms.
Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) Assistant Department Head Engr. John Christopher Algallar, who provided the rationale, said that the infrastructure also comes with complete furnishings and is designed to become a conducive venue for planning and brainstorming for new ideas for development.
Punong Barangay Claro Miranda is filled with gratitude for realizing the long-desired project through the support from the provincial government. He personally thanked the Governor and conveyed the people’s gratitude for helping their barangay progress further.
