Gov Leads Groundbreaking of New Bahay Alumni at Davao Oriental State University

Giving due recognition and support to the academe that continuously pushes for advancement in tertiary education in the province, Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang has recently led the groundbreaking ceremony of the soon-to-rise Alumni Building at the Davao Oriental State University.

Funded under the Local Government Development Fund (LGDF 2022), the two-storey building with a project cost of P4.5 million consists of a total floor area of about 336 square meters.

The building is designed with a spacious office and a multi-purpose hall that can accommodate at least 50 occupants. The second floor will be the guest’s quarters that can accommodate at least 14 persons.

Provincial Engineer Ruel Dumadag added that the building comes with a kitchen and furniture that gives the building a home feel.

Governor Dayanghirang, during the groundbreaking ceremony on February 22, said that this project hopes to help inspire the academic sector to continuously help in shaping the minds of present and future professionals in the province.

Dr. Roy G. Ponce, SUC President III, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Governor Dayanghirang for the consistent support through various projects promising further development and progress for the University. He said that the project demonstrates unity, which is the key to achieving growth in the education sector and the province as a whole.
