DAVAO ORIENTAL—Under the Provincial Government’s Infrastructure Development Priority Program, new infrastructure projects have been turned-over to Barangay Piso, Municipality of Banaybanay on August 18, 2019.

Governor Nelson Dayanghirang has led the turn-over ceremony of the new fully-furnished Multipurpose Building, with finishing and landscaping.

The P3 million Multipurpose Building which was funded under the Local Government Development Fund (LGDF) may also serve as a command center or evacuation center in times of disasters.

Governor Dayanghirang also led the turn-over of a Potable Water System (PWS) at the waterless communities in the barangay. The project’s phase one, which is the exploratory drilling and installation of electro-mechanical facilities, costs P1.3 Million funded by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). The phase two of the project is the construction of storage, transmission, and distribution facilities which costs P2.5 million still funded by the DILG.

Project In-Charge Engineer Alan Cabili said that the Phase three of the PWS – the project’s rehabilitation and expansion, will start as soon the bidding process is completed. He said that the expansion will enable all villagers to benefit from the project, including those who are situated at the barangay’s center.

“We only have three Puroks who can benefit from the project’s Phase I and II, the Kanipaan, Casilak, and Bucana. These are situated at the either side of the barangay, the hinterland part and coastal area. So, when the Phase III of the project is implemented, those who live at the center can now get steady supply of water because we will be installing distribution pipelines,” Cabili said during an interview.

Governor Dayanghirang congratulated the residents for their barangay’s new developments and has asked their support by taking care of the said projects.

“We all know that this is the basic need of the residents so let us also do our part in sustaining this project. Let’s avoid illegal tapping at the distribution lines so that we can maintain the water’s cleanliness and sanitation,” he said.
