DAVAO ORIENTAL—Aiming to provide better health care to its employees, the Provincial Government has recently inaugurated a new clinic situated at the Provincial Capitol.

Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang, who led the inauguration on August 1, emphasized the need for the Provincial Government to also look after the health and well-being of its employees.

Among the primary services that the clinic will provide include medical consultation or checkup, said Dr. Ariel Dela Cruz, the Capitol Clinic Physician.

Aside from this, he said the clinic will also provide prescription refills. He added that the clinic will also extend its services to indigent patients seeking medical assistance at the Governor’s Office.

“We established this clinic to give service to our employees because our hospital is a bit far for our employees to go to,” Governor Dayanghirang said, adding that “In order to take care and provide our excellent services to others, we must also take care of our own health and well-being.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Dela Cruz added that they are planning to include other services at the clinic like free Basic Blood Chemistry Exam for regular employees aged 50.

Another highlight service that it will soon provide is the mental health consultation. “Of course, there is still a lot of work to do on our advocacy on mental health, we need to hire psychologist, for example. This is still a plan, we still need the approval of the Governor, but definitely this is a very important advocacy. We have started with our awareness campaign on social media and we were able to get a lot of audience engagement on it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Herminigilda Nartatez, who was also present during the event, congratulated Dr. Dela Cruz for finally making the clinic fully operational since March of this year.

“I personally commend Dr. Ariel Dela Cruz and his staff for ensuring that this clinic is truly responsive to the needs of our provincial employees. This is a very big help for our employees. This is one way of showing that of our Governor takes care of our manpower because the manpower is the power of every organization,” she said.

Dr. Nartatez delivers her congratulatory message.

“So, we thank most sincerely to our governor and other movers for making this facility a reality. Congratulations for this fruitful undertaking, we wish you a continuing success as well as to our beloved Governor who is really sincere in taking care of the health of his people,” Dr. Nartatez added.
