Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon officially welcomed Dr. Josephine L. Fadul as the new Davao Oriental Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) in a lighthearted ceremony held today, April 5, at Honey’s Hotel, Mati City. The occasion also served as a ceremonial farewell for outgoing SDS Reynaldo Mellorida B. Mellorida CESO V.

Governor Malanyaon offered her warmest greetings and sincere congratulations to Dr. Fadul as she takes on her new role in leading the education sector of Davao Oriental, noting how excited she is “to have another woman leader to head the Department of Education in the province.”

The new Schools Division Superintendent, who also happens to be a Davao Oriental native, received assurances from the governor that the Provincial Government will always support her leadership and efforts to establish the finest learning environment for the students of the province.

“On behalf of the provincial government, rest assured that you have the provincial government’s support. Let us all work together to ensure the continued success of our schools and a brighter future for our learners here in Davao Oriental,” Malanyaon remarked.

“It is time that I will give back to my own people the kind of leadership that I give people outside my own province. Indeed, there is no place as beautiful as home,” Dr. Josephine L. Fadul elatedly conveyed as she accepted the new Davao Oriental SDS role. She shared her excitement about returning to serve in her home province and sharing her experience, knowledge, and expertise to help her fellow Oriental Dabawenyos.

“Indeed the feeling is a lot different when you are with people you have grown with,” Dr. Fadul expressed.

Dr. Fadul also pledged to work closely and collaborate with fellow educators, the provincial government, the community, and other stakeholders to bring about additional positive changes in Davao Oriental’s educational system. “Let’s commit our hands together to continue our quest for innovation and determination and doubling all our achievements and improvements so as to bring more impressive changes in the students of Davao Oriental Division,” she said.

Meanwhile, Outgoing SDS Mr. Reynaldo Mellorida expressed his deepest thanks to the provincial government and all stakeholders that supported his administration during his stint as SDS, especially during the tough times of the pandemic.

SDS Mellorida is instrumental in implementing programs, projects, and activities that expedited the delivery of the needed services in the schools in the province. These include provision of additional teachers and non-teaching personnel, laboratories, equipment, furniture, teaching, and learning materials; research development and internet connectivity; funding for feeding, health, and greening programs; installation of solar panels in unenergized schools; distribution of computerization program packages, processing of land ownership documents and other education services, among others.  ʙʏ ꜰʀᴀɴᴄɪꜱ ᴊᴀʏ ʙᴜᴛᴜʟᴀɴ | ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏꜱ ʙʏ ᴍᴀʀᴋ ᴏʟɪᴠᴇʀ ᴀʟᴠɪᴛᴇ
