In the continuing efforts of recognizing the roles of daycare workers towards the holistic learning and development of children, the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental gathered the Child Development Workers (CDWs) in the ten municipalities and one city of the province for a Provincial Congress at Honey’s Hotel, City of Mati on Friday, December 09, 2022.
The recognition of the 438 CDWs who ensured the welfare of the 441 Child Development Centers was highlighted by the awarding of Performance Incentives amounting to P5,000.00 per recipient or P2.7M in total cash incentives extended. In accordance with the Provincial Ordinance No. 15, aside from the Performance Incentive Awards, Loyalty Awards amounting to P5,000.00 each were also handed out to the 45 CDWs who reached 15 years in service and additional qualified CDWs also received P1,500.00 per 5 succeeding years (20th,25th and 30th years in service).
Moreover, seven retiree CDWs were lauded for their invaluable service as they received a cash incentive award receiving P15,000.00 each. Meanwhile, each LGU’s Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) focal person was given P3,000.00 each.
Governor Corazon Malanyaon, who delivered her message to the CDWs through the OIC of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and Provincial Administrator Ma. Gracia Tiago encouraged the CDWs to continue doing their good deeds and spreading their values and knowledge to the young ones who are future nation-builders.
“Your work is not easy, nevertheless, you still continue what you do, you still move onwards – and that is admirable and not anyone can do that… making you all unique and particular persons who should be acknowledged and given much significance. I only hope that you are happy and continue your commendable acts,” Tiago remarked.
During the Provincial Congress, the CDWs and LGU Representatives presented their Reports of Accomplishments for the year as well as activities in furthering the welfare and development of children including capacitating the involvement of the parents.
