Immediately after the completion of the first round of distribution of food packs, the Province of Davao Oriental is now preparing for the second wave of the relief distribution.

As agreed with all its local government units, the Provincial Government will shoulder all the requirements for the next round of distribution to give ample time to the municipalities and the city to prepare for their turn on the third wave which they will shoulder.

Currently, supplies have started to arrive and volunteers are busy packing relief goods at designated packing centers.

For the second round, food packs will contain four kilos of rice and four canned goods.

While the province hopes to distribute the goods early next week, the final schedule for the distribution is yet to be announced.

To ensure speedy distribution, team leaders who will be deployed to each of the municipality and city will adopt a system wherein the distribution will be scheduled by puroks to avoid crowds and to ensure physical distancing.

The same with the first wave of distribution, the province targets more or less 171,000 families to be given with food packs.

Governor Nelson Dayanghirang appeals for the patience of the residents, assuring that the Provincial Government is doing the best it can to deliver the goods to each family the soonest possible. He added that teams from the province who are being deployed are painstakingly facilitating and monitoring the distribution to ensure that it reaches its intended beneficiaries. (PIO)
