DAVAO ORIENTAL – The City Government of Davao has extended aid to the flood-stricken towns in Davao Oriental.

City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Head Ret. PSUPT Alfredo Baloran turned over checks amounting to P300,000 each to the municipalities of Tarragona, Manay, Caraga, Baganga, Cateel, and Boston.

PSUPT Baloran was accompanied by the Assistant Department Head of the PDRRMO Francis Jason Bendulo.

Governor Nelson Dayanghirang expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Davao City under the leadership of Mayor Sarah Duterte-Carpio for their benevolence for the people of Davao Oriental.

“The people of Davao Oriental will never forget this kindness extended to us. We are indeed very grateful,” said Governor Dayanghirang.

The province of Davao Oriental has just been placed under a State of Calamity due to the severe damages caused by weeks of intermittent rain brought by Tropical Depression “Amang” and the tail-end of a cold front. Davao Oriental made the declaration after its Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed Resolution no. 18-2019 during its regular session yesterday, February 6, 2019.
