DILG Lauds Gov Dayanghirang for his Contribution in War Against Drugs

For his steadfast efforts and big contribution on the war against illegal drugs, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has lauded Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang during a quartely meeting by the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Illegal Drugs (ICAD) on September 29, 2021.

The Regional Director of DILG-XI Alex Roldan along with the chairperson of ICAD and the Regional Director of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region XI (PDEA-XI) Aileen Lovitos has conferred the award to Governor Dayanghirang for his consistent programs and contribution in the thrust to make Davao Oriental a drug-free province.

During the meeting, updates on the drug-clearing programs were presented together with the discussion on further initiatives in strengthening the anti-drug abuse efforts of the region in its target to eradicate the drug-related problems.

For sustaining the Barangay Drug Clearing status from 2017-2019, the City of Mati Local Government Unit (LGU) has received the 2020 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) special award from the DILG.

Meanwhile, the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) Best Practice has been conferred to the Province of Davao Oriental Province who was chosen by the DILG as one of the only 9 selected LGUs with CBDRP Best Practice all throughout the country.

Present during the meeting were the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) and City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) Action Officers with the representatives from the Philippine National Police XI (PNP-XI), Department of Health XI (DOH-XI), Department of Justice XI (DOJ-XI) and other concerned agencies.
