The Davao Oriental Provincial Government has officially inaugurated its Employeesโ€™ Health and Wellness Program at the Capitol Covered Court, signaling a robust commitment to employee well-being.

Dr. Reden V. Bersaldo, Provincial Health Officer II, underscored the paramount importance of employee health, noting, “Beyond fostering a conducive work environment, it’s imperative for us, as employees, to prioritize our health.”

As part of the launch event, a lecture on cardiovascular diseases was organized in observance of Philippine Heart Month.

From February 19 to May 31, all Capitol employees will undergo their annual physical examinations. Furthermore, Zumba sessions will take place every Friday, complemented by quarterly health education and counseling activities benefiting at least 50 employees. The program specifically targets high-risk employees and those with comorbidities.

This initiative is the result of a collaborative effort between the Provincial Health Office-Non-Communicable Diseases Program, Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office, Provincial Capitol Clinic, and the Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Centerโ€™s Personnel Health Services Unit. Provincial Governor Niรฑo Sotero L. Uy, Jr. has wholeheartedly endorsed the program, reaffirming the government’s unwavering dedication to employee welfare. By Rez Pann | Photos by JB Rain
