Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon’s administration is determined to sustain the province’s peace and order status following last year’s declaration of Davao Oriental as an insurgency-free province. “Our focus this time is on the sustainment of peace,” she said.
To do so, she anticipates the all-out support of the province’s peace and development partners, notably the Philippine Army, in implementing programs to safeguard the province’s peace.
During the New Year’s call of the officials of the Philippine Army earlier today at the Provincial Capitol, Governor Malanyaon thanked the military for their vast contributions to addressing the province’s insurgency problem. She said she had always considered them dependable partners not only in securing the peace and order situation of the province but also with various developmental undertakings of the local government.
701st Brigade Commander Brigadier General Oliver Maquiling assured Governor Malanyaon of the military’s all-out support of the administration’s programs and vowed to beef up efforts to sustain peace and prevent the resurgence of the armed revolution in this side of the country.
With Brig. Gen. Maquiling, during the courtesy call, were the officers of 701st Brigade under his command led by Deputy Brigade Commander Col. Edgar Delos Reyes and the Battalion Commanders of the 67th and 66th Infantry Battalions, Lt. Col. Arvin Tenorio and Lt. Col. Julius Munar, respectively. ʙʏ ᴋᴀʀᴇɴ ʟᴏᴜ ᴅᴇʟᴏꜱᴏ, ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏꜱ ʙʏ ᴍᴀʀᴋ ᴏʟɪᴠᴇʀ ᴀʟᴠɪᴛᴇ
