In a significant act of compassion aimed at ensuring the continued education of orphaned children, the provincial government distributed financial assistance and school supplies to Muslim orphans across the province.
A total of 150 children benefitted from the initiative, receiving much-needed support to help them stay in school. The recipients came from various areas, including Banaybanay (30 children), Lupon (22 children), Tarragona (25 children), and the City of Mati (73 children).
This program, spearheaded by a strong partnership between the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC), and the Center for Muslim Welfare Services Incorporated (CMWSI), aims to ease the financial burden on families and ensure that the children are fully supported in their educational journey.
Governor Niño Uy, who personally led the distribution, expressed his joy and commitment to prioritizing all sectors of society, despite budget constraints. “I’m happy that despite the challenges, our programs continue. We’ve ensured that our services remain uninterrupted, extending our reach to every sector of the community,” said Gov. Uy.
As the assistance was distributed, the children’s faces lit up with peaceful smiles and hope, showing their deep gratitude. This vital effort provides these young individuals with the opportunity to secure their future through education, thanks to the unwavering support of the Provincial Government.
