Joy and celebration filled the air as 455 Child Development Workers (CDWs) from 183 barangays across Davao Oriental gathered for the 6th Child Development Workers Provincial Congress on November 12 at the Provincial Capitol Covered Court. The event, spearheaded by Governor Niño Uy, served as a heartfelt recognition of the tireless dedication and hard work of these unsung heroes shaping the lives of children in the province.
Organized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), led by Department Head Juvy Bonita and Provincial Early Childhood Care Development (ECCD) Focal Marilou Francisquete, the congress became a memorable celebration. The daycare workers showcased their talents through performances in song and dance, highlighting their essential role in nurturing the next generation of Davao Oriental.

As a token of gratitude, the provincial government hosted an awarding ceremony. Each CDW received a certificate of appreciation and a cash incentive of ₱5,000, while ECCD focal persons in each municipality were awarded ₱3,000 as a performance incentive. Retiring daycare workers were honored with a ₱15,000 retirement incentive, and additional prizes and bonuses were handed out to participants.
