Davao Oriental Recognized as DICT Partner for Digital Transformation

The Province of Davao Oriental was honored as one of the most active partners of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for its continued efforts in strengthening communities through digital transformation.

The recognition was awarded during the Regional Tech4ED Awards and DICT Partners Celebration today, November 19, 2024, at Sotogrande Hotel, Davao City.

Davao Oriental was recognized for its initiatives that significantly impact the community, the number of beneficiaries served, and the services delivered through the Tech4ED Program in the province.

Additionally, special awards were given to the following:

  • Emerging Tech4ED Centers:
    • 3rd Place: Reception Study and Diagnostic Center (RSDC)
    • 2nd Place: Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU)
  • Outstanding Tech4ED Centers:
    • 3rd Place: FITS Banaybanay Tech4ED Center

The awarding ceremony, themed “Celebrating a Year of Collaboration,” highlighted the strong partnership between DICT and local stakeholders in the region.

Governor Niño Uy expressed his gratitude and pride for the recognition, saying:

“I am deeply honored to receive this award, which celebrates our collective dedication to building innovations. This recognition highlights the strength of our partnership with DICT and its tremendous impact on the communities throughout our province.”

He also emphasized the numerous benefits of the Tech4ED Program, particularly in providing opportunities for learning, economic growth, and innovation.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of everyone involved – DICT, PLGU staff, and the local community. We will continue striving to expand our digital reach to ensure equitable opportunities for all.”

The award was accepted on behalf of the province by Everindo Esver, Chief of Staff of the Provincial Governor’s Office, and Ms. Marjorie Egot, Technical Staff from the Provincial Planning and Development Office, with DICT Provincial Head Engr. Exekiel Hugh Bermejo also in attendance.
