Resolution to Institutionalize the “Davao Oriental Bayanihan Program” Passed

In a firm commitment to strengthen and sustain initiatives against insurgency, the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) approved a resolution today, December 16, 2024, requesting the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to enact an ordinance institutionalizing the Davao Oriental Bayanihan Program. The resolution was passed during the PTF-ELCAC’s 4th quarter meeting.

Chaired by Governor Niño Uy, the Task Force members united in their decision to institutionalize the program, recognizing its significant positive impact, particularly in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA).

Effective Solutions for the Community

Launched in 2023 under Governor Uy’s administration, the Davao Oriental Bayanihan Program has proven effective in delivering essential services to communities. Since its inception, nearly 8,000 families across six municipalities have benefited from the program.

  2. Agricultural support and interventions
  3. Animal medical supplies
  4. Tilapia operation support
  5. Food packs
  6. Seedlings distribution
  7. Livelihood support

  • Dental check-ups and tooth extractions
  • Circumcision (Tuli)
  • Legal consultations
  • Assistance in renewing licenses
  • Medical insurance
  • Haircuts
  • Medical check-ups
  • Distribution of medicines

Sustained Support for Peace and Progress

Governor Niño Uy emphasized the importance of this ordinance in ensuring lasting peace and stability—the foundations of the province’s development. He reassured the public of the PTF-ELCAC’s continued dedication to serving the people of Davao Oriental.

In his message, Gov. Uy extended his gratitude to various government departments and agencies for their unwavering support, especially the Philippine Army, Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, and other security forces for their role in preventing the re-entry of communist influence into the province.

Governor Uy further stated that institutionalizing the Davao Oriental Bayanihan Program reflects the PTF-ELCAC and provincial leadership’s strong determination to protect peace, enhance public services, and implement sustainable solutions for the brighter future of Davao Oriental.
