DAVAO ORIENTAL – 75 uniformed personnel and civilian security participated in a 5-day long VIP Security and Protection Orientation Training organized by the Philippine National Police (PNP) from March 7-11, 2022 at the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office (DOPPO).
The VIP Security and Protection training is aimed at providing knowledge to uniformed personnel who are detailed as security escorts to secure civilians with very important personality status.
The training was under the supervision of the officers of the Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG), headed by PMAJ Renante Aritiala.
Provincial Director of DOPPO, Police Colonel Efren Orlina, said the VIP security program also aims to professionalize the security sector so it can make available highly trained and disciplined bodyguards for individuals who need such services and for visiting dignitaries.
During the closing ceremony on March 11, the participants have shown an actual presentation of the practical skills they got from training and from their experience as VIP security. Demonstrations of 1-man detail, 2-man detail, 3-man detail, and vehicle immobilization were showcased by the trainees.
Representing Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang, Vice-Governor Nino Sotero L. Uy lauded the trainees for their commitment to their job, and for putting their safety at risk due to the nature of their work. He also thanked them for the sacrifice they do imperative to their job.
