Davao Oriental’s Capitol marked the Christmas season yesterday, December 10, 2024, with a simple yet heartfelt celebration.
Despite its modest nature, the event, themed “Denim and White Holiday Blues Christmas Party, ” was filled with joy and camaraderie. Thousands of Provincial Government employees gathered not just to celebrate but also to reflect on the efforts and achievements accomplished as one family.
HEARTFELT GRATITUDE
Governor Niño Uy expressed his sincere gratitude to all employees in his message. “2024 has been unparalleled unity, perseverance, and dedication,” he said.
The Governor recognized each individual’s sacrifices and hard work, emphasizing that their collective effort is the foundation of his service to the people. Acknowledging budget constraints, he hoped for understanding regarding the simplicity of the event. “What matters most is not the grandeur of the celebration but our unity as one family,” Gov. Uy added.
CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR EMPLOYEES
This year, the province operated under a reenacted budget, which made implementing programs, including employee benefits, challenging.
Despite financial constraints, Gov. Uy ensured everyone could feel the holiday spirit. He announced the following benefits for employees:
- For Regular, Casual, Appointive, and Elective Officials:
- Performance Enhancement Incentive (PEI): ₱5,000
- Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA): ₱25,000
- Service Recognition Incentive (SRI): ₱20,000 (pending DBM guidelines)
Total: ₱50,000
- For Job Order Employees:
- ₱10,000 (to be received this December)
- Additional ₱7,000 in January (pending DBM clearance)
- Additional ₱3,000 in January (Gov. Uy’s initiative)
Total: ₱20,000
- For Consultants: ₱15,000
In addition, all employees received a sack of rice and a grocery package—a gesture of love and care from Gov. Uy to his fellow public servants.
UNITY AND INSPIRATION
Though the celebration was simple, employees expressed gratitude for Gov. Uy’s leadership. For them, the event was more than just a gathering—it was a testament to the true spirit of Christmas: unity, gratitude, and inspiration.
“This celebration is a reminder of what the holiday season truly stands for—togetherness, thankfulness, and giving hope,” said one employee.
“We will continue to unite and strive for a more progressive Davao Oriental. Thank you for your support and love for our province,” Gov. Uy concluded, leaving a message of resilience and hope. PIO | Photos by JB Rain
