Banaybanay, Davao Oriental — Governor Niño Uy spearheaded the delivery of essential healthcare services to the residents of Banaybanay through the Aksyon Panglawas Medical Mission, marking a significant step toward improved health and well-being in the community.
On the mission’s opening day, November 18, over a thousand residents benefited from free medical services across eight barangays, including Caganganan, Rang-ay, Mogbongcogon, Calubihan, Cabangclan, San Vicente, Panikian, and Mahayag. The mission is set to continue on November 19 to serve residents in additional barangays: Causwagan, Piso, Maputi, Puntalinao, Pintatagan, and Poblacion.
In his address, Governor Uy reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing health initiatives in the province.
“This program represents our continued dedication to providing essential services to our people. Health remains the top priority of our province because we understand that good health is the foundation of a strong and thriving community,” Governor Uy emphasized.
The Aksyon Panglawas Medical Mission, an initiative launched under the leadership of the late Governor Corazon Malanyaon, has been strengthened by Governor Uy to reach all 183 barangays of Davao Oriental. It offers services such as medical consultations, tooth extractions, distribution of proper medications and vitamins, and preventive health measures, all at no cost to the community.
The mission is facilitated by the Provincial Capitol Clinic in collaboration with the Barangay Affairs Support Services Office (BASSO), Barangay Health Workers (BHW), medical professionals, local police, and the military.
The event’s success was made possible by the active participation of provincial and local leaders, including Board Member Stephen Paul Uy, Mati City Councilor Arman Valera, Atty. Luisito Garcia Rabat, Louie Malanyaon, Davao Oriental Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Engr. Rufo Trocio, Former Social Services Unit Head Rhea Clarabal, Banaybanay Vice Mayor Jose Amor Bagayas, barangay officials, and other dedicated volunteers.
