DAVAO ORIENTAL—The Davao Oriental Provincial Office of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has convened all Provincial Government Department Heads to prepare for the province’s upcoming 2019 Seal of Good Local Governance assessment on May 23.During the orientation at the Capitol’s Grand Conference Room, DILG Provincial Director Yvette Tolentino Sunga presented the parameters to be used as the official 2019 SGLG criteria.
PD Sunga has enjoined all Department Heads to speed up the preparation of the documents for the upcoming assessment, stressing that eyeing for the Seal is not just for compliance and for the prestige it will bring for each winning LGU but, more importantly, in ensuring the delivery of programs and services to the people. In 2018 SGLG, only four Municipalities in the province have won the Seal out of ten Municipalities and one City.
She also emphasized that the Seal will help each barangay address their needs especially that the SGLG is brought to the barangay level this year.
“It’s really for Davao Oriental, it’s for the people. It’s not for the personal gain of the governor or the province but it’s really for you who are residents in the province. All that we do is for peace and development, eradicate poverty, and inclusive growth are our end goals,” PD Sunga said.
