For its transparency and for demonstrating accountability through consistent updating and monitoring of locally funded projects in the “SubayBayan” portal system, the Provincial Local Government Unit of Davao Oriental was ranked as the fifth Best Performing Local Government Unit (LGU) in the Davao Region’s SubayBAYANI (Subaybayan ang Proyektong Bayan) Award of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
In a virtual awarding ceremony on Monday, April 25, 2022, Davao Oriental was presented with the much sought after accolade.
The SubayBAYAN is the new and improved DILG Infrastructure Monitoring System that covers all the locally funded projects monitored by the department. This aims to uphold transparency and good governance in the government.
Among the inclusions of the monitoring are Geo-tagging, Map Integration, Physical and Financial Monitoring Graphs, Reports and other useful analytical tools.
During the awarding ceremony, DILG Regional Director Alex C. Roldan congratulated the top performing LGUs and stressed their huge contribution in ensuring the right implementation of the projects in the respective localities.
DILG Provincial Director Orle Cabaobao lauded the teamwork between the DILG Provincial Office and the Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Nelson Dayanghirang in espousing transparency in the implementation of the projects that serve and improve the people and the communities.
Aside from Davao Oriental, also receiving the award in the region are the provincial government of Davao Nel Norte which sits on the 4th place and provincial government of Davao De Oro ranked as the 10th. By Mark Oliver L. Alvite
