It was a joyful and meaningful day for thirteen beneficiaries in Barangay Badas, Mati City, as they received 65 live goats from the provincial government of Davao Oriental yesterday.
Each beneficiary was given five goats, consisting of four females and one male, as part of the province’s Livestock Dispersal Program, managed by the Provincial Veterinarian’s Office.
This initiative aligns with the administration of Governor Niño Uy, focusing on enhancing the livestock industry in the province. Moreover, it represents a long-term strategy aimed at providing additional livelihood and income opportunities for farmers.
Through this program, it is expected that goat production will improve and the quality of life for beneficiaries will rise through profits generated from caring for and breeding these animals.
Governor Uy emphasized that the Livestock Dispersal Program is a strong support system for local farmers, enabling them to contribute to and succeed in the development of Davao Oriental. PIO | Photos by Franz Albo
