To uplift the lives of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) across Region XI, particularly in Davao Oriental, Governor Niño Uy participated in the ceremonial distribution of Land Titles and Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROM) held on December 5 in Panabo City, Davao del Norte. The event, spearheaded by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and facilitated by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Region XI, marks a significant milestone in providing farmers with secure land ownership.

At the heart of the ceremony was the distribution of Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROMs), Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs), and Electronic Titles (E-Titles). These documents affirm DAR’s unwavering commitment to ensuring farmers achieve dignity and security through rightful ownership of the lands they cultivate.

In Davao Oriental alone, 1,820 COCROMs were issued, covering a total of 3,072.3839 hectares and benefiting 1,606 local farmers. This initiative resulted in the condonation of debts amounting to ₱75,819,734.81 for the province.

Governor Uy expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Marcos Jr. and DAR for their proactive efforts in leading this transformative initiative. He emphasized that his Provincial Government will continue to work tirelessly to enhance the agriculture sector, which remains a vital economic pillar for Davao Oriental.

This event is aligned with the implementation of Republic Act No. 11953, also known as the New Agrarian Reform Emancipation Act. The law facilitates the condonation of unpaid debts by Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries who were granted lands under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).

Governor Uy reaffirmed his dedication to the development of the agriculture sector, underscoring its importance in fostering sustainable growth and improving the quality of life for farmers across the province.
