The Provincial Government has formally turned over a new barangay hall cum incident command center in Barangay Palma Gil in the municipality of Caraga.

Punong Barangay Elmer Madanlo formally accepted the Certificate of Turn-over from Governor Nelson Dayanghirang in a simple turn-over ceremony held recently.

Designed to withstand typhoons and other disasters, PB Madanlo thanked Governor Dayanghirang for providing them a new barangay hall that is safer and well-designed.

Assistant Provincial Engineer Ruel Dumadag said that the province has changed the way it has been constructing buildings and roads. “We are now making more resilient structures, meaning they can withstand calamities such as storms and tremors. And most importantly, this structure will serve as a command center where officials can meet for decision-making in times of calamities,” he explained.

Gov. Nelson Dayanghirang hopes that this new structure will become a more efficient venue to deliver government services to the community.
The Governor said that the second phase of the project which is set for construction is a new session hall and the landscaping.

On the other hand, Governor Dayanghirang also made mention of the access road leading to the barangay which urgently needs to be rehabilitated. He asked the barangay officials to come up with a resolution converting the barangay road to provincial road which is an easier way to access funding.

The turn-over ceremony was held in time during the distribution of the third wave of food packs in the barangay.

Witnessing the turn-over ceremony were Vice Governor Niño Uy and some members of the 16th Sannguniang Panlalawigan, Provincial Administrator Art Benjie Bulaong, Caraga Mayor Alicia Mori, local officials, and 66th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer Lt.
