DAVAO ORIENTAL –Two barangays in the municipality of Baganga have recently received their new barangay hall, serving as the villagers’ link to the government.

Governor Nelson Dayanghirang personally turned over the new infrastructure projects to the officials of Barangay Lucod and Barangay Kinablangan on November 21, 2019.

OIC Provincial Engineer Ruel Dumadag said that these Barangay Halls worth P3 million each are part of the priority infrastructure projects of the Governor to the grassroots.

During the turn-over ceremonies, Governor Nelson Dayanghirang said that these infrastructures are designed to be disaster-resilient which can withstand an intensity 8.5 earthquake and can resist maximum sustained winds up to 220 kilometers per hour.

“We designed these structures to be resilient to calamities because we have already learned from the impact of Typhoon Pablo. Your Barangay Hall will also serve also as Command Center during disasters,” said Gov. Dayanghirang adding that he is just an instrument of realizing his people’s aspirations for the betterment of the province.

Mayor Arturo Monday of Baganga said these newly-built infrastructures as symbol of the government in the barangays. “Barangay Hall is the community center where people in the grassroots can get assistance in availing government services,” he added.

Punong Barangay Isagani Morales of Kinablangan expressed his deepest gratitude to Governor Dayanghirang for leading the establishment of the village’s hall that will serve as center of government services for the people in the grassroots and for his unending support to Barangay Kinablangan.
