The Philippine Councilors League – Davao Oriental Federation and so with the local government units and the component city are expecting a huge increase to the provincial aid of the province.
This came after Governor Nelson Dayanghirang assured the PCL at their oath-taking which followed after their election last Monday that he will double next year’s provincial aid to the PCL and that of the ten municipalities and the city.
“I know there is a need to increase the provincial aid that you are receiving yearly. I will implement the increase so you can use the fund in implementing your projects and other endeavors in your respective places,” he said
From P150,000 annual financial assistance, the provincial aid to the PCL will be P400,000 next year. And for the municipalities and the component city, the provincial aid will double next year to P1 million from the present P500,000.
Dayanghirang expressed his happiness that all officers of the PCL-Davao Oriental Federation were unopposed, led by the re-elected President Rabsalon Lamaran of Banaybanay.
Also elected to the federation are its Vice President Councilor Anna Cheryl Castro of Cateel, Secretary General Councilor Manuel Lepardo of Manay, Treasurer Councilor John Paul Lampig of Boston, Councilor Daisy Jane Polancos of Caraga who was elected Auditor, Councilor Sheila Mae Ruelo elected as Business Manager, and Councilor Joan Monday elected as PRO, who also enjoyed an unopposed bid in the election.
The League also agreed to have a representative from each municipality and the component city who will compose the Board of Directors.
Chosen as Board of Directors were Councilors Liezel Teves of Banaybanay, Elmer Panuayan of Manay, Cancio Serafin of Tarragona, Jayffrey Manguiob of Baganga, Michael Rosalia of Cateel, Delfin Miones of the City of Mati, Eutequio Pagsac of Caraga, Councilor Jalon of Gov. Generoso, Edna Bote of Lupon, Lyra Migrino of San Isidro, and Amie Monredondo of Boston.
Gov. Nelson Dayanghirang emphasized that their being unopposed was a clear manifestation of unity.
“Our unity is the secret and the key to the accomplishments achieved by the province now. It is also the key in achieving our dream of progress for the province. I fervently hope that you will remain vibrant in fulfilling your duties. I call on you to make your group stronger. To the league officers, be there always for your colleagues. Listen to them, listen to their sentiments, and listen to their suggestions,” he added.
Lamaran was elated with the trust and confidence given to him by his colleagues and is inspired with the unity of the top provincial leaders.
“If Governor Nelson Dayanghirang, Congressman Mayo Almario and Congresswoman Cora Malanyaon are now in alliance, then absolutely, we can do the same. Let us follow them so there will be no stopping us in pursuing more development measures,” he explained.
Sitting as Election Committee Chairman was DILG Provincial Director Orle Cabaobao with members Dr. Adriatico Manlapaz and City of Mati Councilor Xander Paul Alcantara, and guest from the National Councilors League, Hon. Kathleen Cinco.
