A groundbreaking opportunity for workers without college degrees but with significant work experience is now accessible in Davao Oriental through the Enhanced Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP). This initiative, in partnership with Capitol University in Cagayan de Oro, is transforming the futures of provincial employees by helping them attain their degrees.

First implemented in 2022, the program, under the administration of Governor Niño Uy, has already benefited eight Capitol employees. Additionally, 32 more workers from various government agencies and private institutions across the province have also availed themselves of this life-changing opportunity.

Work Experience as Credit for a Degree

The program credits at least five years of relevant work experience toward earning a college degree. Participants attend learning sessions that last for six months, combining flexibility and efficiency to cater to working professionals.

Building a Brighter Future

The ETEEAP is an inclusive and innovative initiative designed to help workers without formal degrees but with considerable expertise achieve academic qualifications that align with their skills.
Aside from earning a degree, participants gain:

  • Enhanced knowledge and skills
  • Eligibility for career promotions
  • Opportunities for professional growth

The program is a significant boost for employees seeking advancement while contributing more effectively to the province’s development.

Collaboration for Change

Capitol University, in partnership with the provincial government, is working tirelessly to expand awareness of ETEEAP. This collaboration emphasizes education as a cornerstone of personal and social progress, aiming for a brighter future for the people of Davao Oriental.

“This program is not just about earning degrees; it’s about building a brighter tomorrow for Dabawenyos,” said Governor Uy.

With strong support from the provincial administration and Capitol University, this initiative underscores Davao Oriental’s commitment to the growth and development of its people.
