City of Mati, Davao Oriental – The provincial government of Davao Oriental continues to provide essential infrastructure projects for the residents of the province, particularly in the City of Mati.

On March 9-10, Governor Nelson Dayanghirang turned over a two-classroom building in Sanghay National High School. He also led the groundbreaking ceremony for two barangay halls in Barangay Mamali and Barangay Danao in Mati.

The spacious 7 meters by 7 meters newly built classrooms equipped with toilets are intended to provide a conducive learning environment for Sangay National High School students.

Parents, teachers, and the students expressed their delight in the project, which replaced the old makeshift classrooms the school used to have.

With a total project cost of P1,3 million, the realization of the school building was made possible through the partnership of the provincial government and the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII).

The provincial government provided a counterpart fund worth P894, 593.85, while Mr. Stanley Sy and Mr. Eduardo A. Bangayan from the FFCCCII have donated P450,000.

The construction of the school building involved structural works, civil works, electrical works and plumbing works which started on June 2021 and was completed on November 2021.

Meanwhile, two multi-purpose buildings cum barangay halls will soon rise in Barangay Mamali and Barangay Danao.

Each barangay hall costs P4 million funded through loan proceeds from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP Loan).

Both projects have an identical design with a total area of 114.49 square meters. The buildings will include offices for the barangay officials, a session hall with a capacity to cater to at least 14 persons, and a waiting area.

To provide comfort to the end-users, each building is designed with a kitchen and lounge, two restrooms, and complete furnishings.

Provincial Engineer Ruel Dumadag guaranteed the stability of the structure of the barangay halls, as they are designed to be calamity-resilient intended to withstand earthquakes of up to intensity 8 and strong winds up to 200 kph.

Barangay officials and the residents thanked the provincial government for providing them a secure and comfortable place to plan and deliver services to the people.
