81 families affected by a recent diarrhea outbreak and 24 employees of 4 commercial buildings that were destroyed by a fire in the Municipality of Manay have received financial assistance, food packs, and various goods through the convergence of the provincial government, Office of Senator Bong Go, and different national government agencies (NGAs).
Each of the recipients received P20,000 cash assistance from the provincial government. Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang led the distribution in Barangay San Ignacio yesterday afternoon, October 26, as he shared his sadness on the recent tragic incidents.
He said that despite these trying times, the provincial government is ready to lend a hand with the help of the different government agencies.
Among the other agencies, who also provided their aid and services, is the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) who handed out P3,000 cash assistance to all affected household. The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), in turn, facilitated the turn-over of financial assistance and food packs.
Meanwhile, the Office of Senator Bong Go which facilitated the convergence effort provided face masks, face shields, and vitamins and raffled off prizes such as shoes, computer tablet, and bicycle. The Office was represented by Office of the Special Assistant to the President (OSAP) Assistant Secretary Atty. Vannessa Goc-ong.
Other agencies also provided assistance that can be availed by the victims. These include the National Housing Agency’s (NHA) Housing Assistance Programs for Calamity Victims, DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), Department of Agriculture’s (DA) seed and planting materials, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) scholarships and trainings and the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI’s) ‘negosyo’ initiatives.
Also gracing the program to share their messages were the Municipal Councilors Jon Marco Dayanghirang and Mae Dayanghirang-Llavore together with the barangay officials in Barangay San Ignacio.
On the same day, the same agencies also distributed cash assistance and other goods to 52 employees of the commercial buildings destroyed by a recent fire in the Municipality of Lupon.
Meanwhile, residents whose homes were destroyed by a fire in the Municipality of Cateel are also set to receive cash assistance and food packs today.
