The Provincial borders will now be open all days of the week including Saturday and Sunday. This was announced by Provincial Task Force on COVID-19 but says the opening of the borders will still follow the 9:00 am to 4:00 pm schedule.

The opening of the borders up to weekends is specially intended to cater to individuals who are only able to travel during the weekend and also for businesses that need to travel from Davao City to Davao Oriental and vice versa to pick-up and deliver supplies.

Aside from extending the opening of the borders, the Provincial Task Force on COVID-19 also announced that there will be additional bus trips from Davao City to Davao Oriental.

From having only three trips per day, there will be four more trips which include routes from Davao City to Governor Generoso, Davao City to the municipality of Caraga, Davao City to the municipality of Boston, and Davao City to Mati City. This means that there will be a total of seven trips per day from Davao City to Davao Oriental.

The PTF on COVID-19 reminded all passengers to bring their food during the trip as buses are not allowed to make a stopover for meals.

Moreover, passengers are reminded that they will still be subjected to screening and are required to submit their embarkation form at the borders. This policy is expected to be implemented until the end of the Modified General Community Quarantine on June 15.

The Provincial Task Force on COVID-19 is yet to announce policies that will be implemented after the Modified General Community Quarantine period. (PIO)
